Albany Tech students win top honors at Georgia Phi Beta Lambda competition

May 1, 2008 – Four Albany Technical College students received first and second place awards at the Phi Beta Lambda of Georgia 61st Annual Leadership Conference held in Atlanta April 17-19th.

Erica Savage, an Accounting student from Albany, placed first in the Future Business Teacher and in Community Service Project. Savage also placed second place in Public Speaking. Brandon Pinto, a Management and Supervisory Development student from Albany, placed first in Human Resource Management. Cartez Hall, a Law Enforcement Technology student from Albany, placed first in Community Service Project. Kristen Tucker, an Accounting student from Thomasville, placed second in Business Presentation.

These top winners earn a chance to compete in the national competition, which will be held in Anaheim, California on June 20-23rd.



Phi Beta Lambda president of the professional division and Albany Technical College instructor, Theresa West of Lee County, received the Georgia Phi Beta Lambda Dr. Hugh A. Lofton Advisor of the Year Award for 2009.
