Albany Tech Opens New Health Information Technology Lab on Thursday

June 2, 2010 - In preparation for the associate degree program launch beginning summer quarter, Albany Technical College will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Nathaniel Cross Health Building, Room 346, to officially open the Health Information Technology lab.

The Health Information Technology program combines health care with information technology. Health information technicians are responsible for maintaining and analyzing data crucial to the delivery of quality patient care.

The new virtual lab, sponsored through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), will offer 3M software for coding and practice fusion for electronic health records.
