High School to College



Albany Technical College Entrance Testing

The following scores are required into admission of Albany Tech as well as some of the High School to College Programs. Please check each individual program's page for more information about which tests are required for acceptance. 

 

ASSET test

The ASSET test is a 2 hour placement test Consisting of English, Reading and Math. It is administered by the testing department of Albany Technical College on the high school campus. Please see your high school counselor or Career Technical Education Director at your high school for testing dates. (Click here to see required scores by program)
 


Compass test

The Compass test is an untimed computerized test consisting of English, Reading, Math and/or Algebra. It is administered by the testing department of Albany Technical College and is offered Monday-Thursday from 9:00am to 1:00pm or Fridays by appointment at 8:30am. High school students may contact Albany Technical College’s High School Coordinator at 430-1972 to set up alternate testing times. (Click here to see required scores by program)

 

SAT

Students will need to see their high school counselor about signing up to take the SAT. Albany Technical College’s required entrance scores for the SAT are as follows:
 

  • Diploma programs and Certificates-400 math and 430 critical reading
  • Degree programs-440 math and 450 critical reading


 

ACT

Students will need to see their high school counselor about signing up to take the SAT. Albany Technical College’s required entrance scores for the ACT are as follows:
 

  • Diploma programs and Certificate-13 Reading, 12 English and 17 Math
  • Degree programs-17 Reading, 16 English, 19 Math
