Important: Federal Aid Application Changes for 2012-13 The electronic Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2012-13 allows you to import tax information from your completed 2011 federal tax return using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. It is strongly encouraged that you select this option if you (your parents and/or spouse) have completed the required returns. If your FAFSA is selected for verification and you filed a paper FAFSA or did not use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool for your electronic FAFSA, you will need to submit IRS transcripts for all persons reporting taxable income on your aid application. Instructions for obtaining IRS transcripts are on the required verification worksheet (available on the Financial Aid website – to the right). Please note: We cannot accept copies of federal tax returns if your file is selected for verification; we must have IRS transcripts.
