February 15, 2016 - Albany GA from The Albany Herald - Schools.com recently released its newest rankings of colleges within the Technical College System of Georgia. In the category of "Best Community Colleges in Georgia," it was Albany Technical College that garnered the top spot. Being No. 1 is a place hard-earned and well-deserved for ATC. The ranking reflects reasonable tuition costs, weekend and evening degree programs, and having an on-campus daycare facility. Albany Tech also was recognized for its distance education participation, with 58 percent of its students enrolled in online courses. It is, in fact, the only school within the TCSG to have more than half its students taking distance education courses at least part-time. In addition, ATC, according to the most recent available statistics, was noted for the highest graduation rate within the system at 99.5 percent. Of that number, an impressive 95.9 percent landed jobs after graduation in their respective fields of study. Technical colleges all over the state have become a path for many high school graduates, those seeking a career change and/or veterans, with ATC leading the way.
