May 15, 2009 – Seven Albany Technical College students placed at the Georgia SkillsUSA Competition held April 17-19, 2009. SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers, as well as high school and college students, who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations including health occupations. Founder of Albany Tech’s EMS program, Dr. Charles Gillespie, receives resolution from state lawmakers

May 13, 2009 – Members of the Region Eight EMS Council presented Charles B. Gillespie, M.D. with two state resolutions during a meeting at Albany Technical College on May 13, 2009. The meeting took place at the college’s Charles B. Gillespie, M.D. Center for Emergency Responders, which was named for the Albany physician.  READ MORE!

Albany Technical College to assist Nigerian university with launch of technical education

May 8, 2009 – Albany Technical College will assist Novena University, in Nigeria, with the development of the university’s technical education programs. The Pro-Chancellor of Novena University, Chuks Ochonogor, recently signed the Memorandum of Understanding along with Albany Tech’s President, Dr. Anthony Parker, during a visit to Albany on April 30, 2009. Albany Tech Lady Titans to hold open try-outs

May 5, 2009 –Albany Technical College’s Lady Titans basketball team will hold an open try-out Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:00a.m. at the Bill Miller Community Center located at 322 Vick Street.  The Lady Titans have already signed three players to the inaugural team and are looking to round out the rest of the team within the next month.  READ MORE!
