Albany Tech student earns Hinman Dental Society Scholarship

April 8, 2009 – Michelle Harris, a 21 year-old dental assisting student at Albany Technical College, recently received the 2009 Thomas P. Hinman Scholarship Award. Harris was selected because of her high grade point average, career goals and professionalism. She traveled to Atlanta in March to accept her $500 scholarship from the Hinman Dental Society.  READ MORE!

Albany Tech to host SWGA Region GOAL competition

April 6, 2009 – Albany Technical College will host the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) finalists from seven southwest Georgia colleges for the regional competition on April 7, 2009. Practical Nursing student Bridgett Morris will represent Albany Tech in the competition.  READ MORE!

Albany State, Albany Tech celebrate partnership

April 1, 2009 - Despite the heavy rain showers and dark clouds, students and faculty from Albany Technical College and Albany State University choose to celebrate Wednesday.

Cooper Tire employees turn to Albany Tech for training Enrollment numbers continue to climb as lay-offs begin

March 31, 2009 – Albany Technical College should set an enrollment record this Spring Quarter, due in part to a growing number of Cooper Tire employees attending the college. Nearly 100 Cooper Tire employees have applied at Albany Tech as they face the closure of the Albany tire plant. Thirty-six employees are enrolled for Spring Quarter which began March 26th.  READ MORE!

Albany Tech /Albany State to host Partnership Day April 1st

March 25, 2009 - Albany Technical College and Albany State will host a Partnership Day on Wednesday, April 1st at 2:00pm at Albany Technical College’s Kirkland Center. Please see attached flyer. Albany State University recently hired a liaison, Vincent Andrews, to be housed at Albany Technical College to help students as they transition from associate degree to bachelor degree programs.
