Albany Tech Phi Beta Lambda members win at State Conference

April 15, 2015- Albany, GA- Albany Technical College Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) members and advisors attended the State Conference in Atlanta on April 10th and 12th and brought back awards in several events.

Criteria for the award is designated for student members who have been loyal and committed members of their local chapter and Georgia PBL. Winners from Albany Tech included Molly Nixon-Loving, PBL Most Outstanding Member; Bettye Bryant, Who's Who in PBL.

Each PBL chapter is encouraged to present a PBL member who has made the most outstanding contributions to the association at the local, state, and national level. Albany Tech won First Place in Division II for a $250 donation to March of Dimes and $200 to the Georgia PBL Foundation. Individual winners from Albany Tech in this division included: Molly Nixon-Loving, Fourth Place, Management Concepts; Willie Brown, Fifth Place, Business Communications; Rosa Wilson, Fourth Place, Retail Management; and Shynekia Emanuel, Fifth Place, Word Processing.

Albany Tech drawing winners during the conference included Tanitha Johnson (two Google Play gift cards) and Molly Nixon-Loving (Beat Speakers). Albany Tech PBL Advisor, Emma Johnson, also won an Advisors' Service Award for five years of service. Susan Ogles was also a participant in the Client Services' event.

Albany Technical College holds Titans Athletic Banquet Friday evening

Albany Technical College, Albany State University sign articulation agreement

April 10, 2015 - ALBANY, GA. — Albany Technical College and Albany State University will hold an articulation agreement signing ceremony Monday, April 13, 2015, at 10 a.m., that will make it possible for students to attend both schools and be able to earn a four-year degree in business. ATC Titans Alliance Wins at Peachtree Regional Competition

April 6, 2015 - Atlanta, GA - The Titans Alliance, a group of high school students who are dually enrolled in Engineering Technology at Albany Tech, was selected as the recipient of the “Rookie Inspiration Award” at the Peachtree Regional Robotics Competition held at the World Congress Center in Atlanta on March 27th and 28th. 

Former President of Albany Technical College Passes Away

Alvin Anderson, Sr., past president of Albany Technical Institute (now Albany Technical College) passed away on March 30th. Anderson served at Albany Tech as President and before that, as Director of General Educational Development (GED®) Programs and Evaluation Assessment, from 1992 to 1994. He was the fourth president of Albany Tech since the college started in 1961. Services will be held on Monday, April 6th, at 11am at Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Atlanta, Georgia. Anderson is survived by his wife, Martha Williams Anderson; sons, Alvin F. Anderson, Jr., Christian G. Anderson, and Leland J. Anderson; sister, Verdelle Anderson Miller; brother, Louis Anderson; a special niece, Debra Miller; other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.

Albany Tech current President Dr. Anthony O. Parker, faculty and staff, offer condolences to the Anderson family.
