What is DREAMS and how will it improve learning?
DREAMS is an acronym for Develop Reading Excellence and Maximize Success. As part Albany Tech's Quality Enhancement Plan, the DREAMS program will focus on improving reading skills to increase the retention and success rate of students.
As part of the DREAMS program, ATC students will receive one-on-one tutoring, supplemental instruction, and support to master the skill sets required for academic success. The College recently opened the Academic Achievement Center (AAC) to give students a place to go for additional tutoring and educational support.
What is QEP?
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) requires each college and university to develop a Quality Enhancement Plan as part of the reaffirmation process for accreditation.
The QEP is a carefully designed and focused course of action that addresses an issue related to enhancing student learning. In Albany Tech's case, the DREAMS program enhances student learning through improving reading skills and decreasing student drop-out rates. The QEP should contribute to the College's mission and compliment the College's ongoing planning and evaluation process.
What will you find on the DREAMS page?
Each month, Albany Tech will post a DREAMS newsletter that further explains the program and how it will help students achieve their academic goals. You can also find out about upcoming events related to DREAMS.
