Kenney Brown, Jr. , United States Army. Albany, Georgia – Albany Technical College will hold an Honors Day Program for Fall 2019 graduates on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Kirkland Conference Center.

Forty-three candidates for Albany Tech’s Fall Graduation will receive awards.

Keynote speaker for the program will be Kenney Brown, Jr., United States Army. Mr. Brown was born and raised in Albany, Georgia. He graduated from Sherwood Christian Academy in 2015. Upon graduating from Sherwood, Brown accepted a football scholarship to attend Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. He later transferred to Columbus State University, where he earned an ROTC Scholarship and is majoring in Finance with a concentration in Military Science. 

Throughout Brown’s ROTC career, he has been given the opportunity to attend the US Army Airborne School at Ft Benning, Georgia; Air Assault School at Ft Campbell, Kentucky; and Army Mountain Warfare School in Jericho, Vermont. Brown will be commissioning as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army on May 15, 2020, and will serve as an Infantry Officer. Brown has the goal of joining the ranks of the United States Army Special Forces, also known as the “Green Berets”.

Brown has one sister, Lakese Brown, and his proud parents are Mr. Kenney Brown, Sr. and Mrs. Barbara Brown. 

Albany Technical College’s Fall Commencement Exercises will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at 7 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center.
