Nursing program expansion.

ALBANY, GA – Expansion of the associate degree in nursing at Albany Technical College is now underway and plans to increase night classes have been arranged. A full-time biology instructor and a full-time nursing instructor have been added to the faculty to handle the growth going into the summer, fall, and next spring. Phoebe Putney Health Systems was instrumental in working with Albany Technical College to implement a plan to graduate more nurses in the region in the next two years.

Albany, Georgia – Albany Technical College (ATC) is preparing for a “Bright Opening” this fall. ATC just released their fall 2021 Instructional Plan. The focus will be on designing a plan that will protect the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors while providing quality technical education and customer service in a learning environment that promotes intellectual and social growth. As the college cautiously returns to in-person learning in the Fall, the health and safety of students, faculty, and staff will remain the top priority. 

Dual Enrollment Ceremony

ALBANY, GAA special Albany Technical College (ATC) Live YouTube event will take place Thursday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m. honoring the Dual Enrollment graduates from Albany Technical College. 64 students at ATC attending as Dual Enrolled high school students will graduate with either an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, a diploma, or Technical Certificate of Credit. COVID-19 has changed how we can recognize these students in person. We want to acknowledge their remarkable achievements and highlight their accomplishments. Albany Technical College is very proud of the accomplishments of the Dual Enrolled students and looks forward to hearing of their great success. 

Design & Media Refresh Wednesday, April 14, at 10 a. m.

Albany, Georgia Albany Technical College will have a virtual live Facebook presentation featuring Design and Media Production Technology Wednesday, April 14, at 10 a. m. in the Center of Excellence in Information Technology and Electronics (CEIT) building, room 128.  A small group of faculty and staff will be on hand during the event which will highlight what is new in the program as well as expected outcomes for graduates.  The presentation will include the areas of specialization to choose from in Design and Media Production Technology.

ALBANY, GA – Southwest Georgia will now see a tractor and trailer traveling the region, parked in designated locations, spreading the word about the Transportation Academy at Albany Technical College. The generous donations of two local industry leaders, SouthernAG Carriers, Inc. and Procter & Gamble, helped make this possible. As companies realize the need for qualified, trained CDL drivers and diesel technicians, there will be a sharp demand curve for graduates over the next few years. Albany Technical College has implemented an 18-wheel traveling billboard that encourages the community to enter into programs at the Transportation Academy: Commercial Truck Driving, Diesel Equipment Technology, Auto Collision Repair Technology, and Automotive Technology.
