Albany Technical College Official Fall 2023 Graduation Commencement Notification

ALBANY, GA – Albany Technical College graduation commencement celebrating the accomplishments of graduates for Fall 2023 will take place Thursday, November 30, at 7:00 PM at the Albany James H. Gray Civic Center. Candidates for Technical Certificates of Credit, Diplomas, Associate Degrees, and High School Equivalencies will be recognized for their accomplishments. This notification is an official invitation to the graduates, families, friends, and community. The Fall 2023 ATC (Albany Technical College) commencement is scheduled to be rebroadcast as noted below:

  • Saturday, Dec., 2nd 2023, WASU-FM 92.7 FM ASU Ram Radio at 11:00 AM (Keynote speaker only)
  • Saturday, Dec., 2nd, Mediacom Channel 19, ASUTV at 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 9:00 PM
  • Sunday, Dec., 3rd, 2023, Mediacom Channel 19, ASU TV at 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM
  • Tuesday, Dec 5th, and Thursday, Dec., 7th, Mediacom Channel 19, ASU TV at 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 9:00 PM

Graduates picked up caps and gowns at GradFest in October and had an opportunity to purchase class rings. "We are excited to announce that ATC has a total graduating class of 575 students with an overall sum of awards totaling 833 for the fall 2023 commencement. This includes Technical Certificate of Credit, Diploma, and/or Associate Degrees," stated Kennosha Hawkins, Albany Technical College Registrar.

Dr. Emmett Griswold, President of Albany Technical College, expressed, "Celebrating our students' success is a cornerstone of our mission at Albany Technical College. Their hard work and steadfast commitment have culminated in this significant achievement, signaling the start of a journey toward fulfilling their dreams. With top-tier education as their foundation, our graduates are equipped to contribute positively and significantly to our community."


Farid KhanThe Keynote speaker for the ceremony is Farid Khan, Albany Plant Manager, Procter & Gamble Albany.

He is a distinguished and multifaceted individual with a rich professional and personal background. Currently serving as the Senior Director and Albany Plant Manager at Procter & Gamble, he began his career with the company on February 10, 2003.

Born in Mombasa, Kenya, East Africa, the Khan's journey is one of international experience and cultural depth. He is a testament to the value of education, holding a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, and an Associate degree in Engineering from NCC in Bethlehem, PA. Additionally, he is a certified Engineer in Training in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Khan’s career at Procter & Gamble is marked by a series of progressive leadership roles, demonstrating expertise in innovation and operations. Highlights include serving as the Senior Director for Family Care Product Supply Global Innovation in Cincinnati, OH, and as the Director for Family Care Bounty Brand Product Supply Innovation in Mehoopany, PA. His journey through various managerial and directorial positions showcases a commitment to excellence and leadership in the field.

Internally, Khan has been actively involved in various leadership teams since 2003, including the Mehoopany African Ancestry Leadership Team and the North America Family Care Asian Pacific American Leadership Team. Externally, his commitment extends to serving on the Albany Technical College Board of Directors and the 4C Academy Board of Directors since 2019, among other affiliations.

Beyond Mr. Khan’s professional achievements, his personal interests add to his dynamic character. He is passionate about spending time with family, cooking, traveling, and has unique hobbies like collecting crazy socks and tinkering with cars. An enthusiast of sports, he enjoys soccer, basketball, and football, reflecting a well-rounded and engaging personality.

Mr. Farid Khan’s story is one of dedication, cross-cultural experience, and leadership, making him an inspiring figure for the graduates at Albany Technical College's Fall 2023 commencement.
