ALBANY, GA – The Albany Technical College Special Needs program will host an informational sessional entitled “Calm After the Storm” on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Albany Tech Kirkland Conference Center.
The session is designed to provide help to those recovering from the recent storms in Albany. The session will cover the effects of trauma and will help attendees be able to identify and understand the effects trauma has on behavior and functioning, as well as to help those individuals to gain an understanding of and responsiveness to the impact of trauma, including physical, psychological, and emotional safety for survivors.
Presenters for the event include Jay Childress, Therapist, Alvita Swain with Strive2Thrive, and others. Albany Tech faculty, staff, students, and the general public are invited to attend.
