Albany, Georgia – 106 Albany Technical College students total will be recognized as Dual Enrolled high school students who graduate with either an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, a diploma, or a Technical Certificate of Credit. Two separate ceremonies will take place in the Kirkland Conference Center at Albany Technical College (ATC) Thursday, April 21 at 9:00 a.m. and another at 3:00 p.m. honoring the Dual Enrollment graduates. The 9:00 a.m. ceremony will be a pathway signing and include 25 students that have earned an AAS degree. At 3:00 p.m. 81 students will be recognized and encouraged to “Take It To The Next Level” for earning a diploma (09) or technical certificate of credit (72).

“We wanted to acknowledge their remarkable achievements and highlight their accomplishments,” said Barbara Brown, Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “Albany Technical College is very proud of the accomplishments of the Dual Enrolled students and looks forward to hearing of their great success.”

With the Georgia Dual Enrollment program, all Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) colleges are seeing success, especially those who move on to four-year universities to obtain higher levels of degrees. The goal is to highlight these students each academic year as well as encourage the other graduates who did not graduate with a degree to go ahead and take it to the next level of education and move forward from a diploma to a degree or from a technical certificate of credit to a diploma.

"The Georgia Dual Enrollment program is one of the finest programs available for high school students, and we encourage local area students, to talk to their parents, and to take advantage of this state-supported endeavor. Albany Technical College offers a chance to fast-track high school students into careers right here locally," said Dr. Anthony O. Parker, President of Albany Technical College.
