Sergeant Major CostonAlbany Technical College Honors Veterans Guest Speaker Sergeant Major Chad M. Coston

Albany, Ga. – Albany Technical College is honored to welcome Sergeant Major Chad M. Coston, United States Marine Corps, as the keynote speaker for the upcoming Veterans Day Ceremony. This event will occur on November 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Kirkland Conference Center.

Sergeant Major Coston, a native of Louisiana, enlisting in the Marine Corps in June 1994, has since established a distinguished military career marked by leadership, courage, and unwavering commitment to service. His extensive operational experience includes deployments with the Unit Deployment Program, the Korean Marine Exchange Program, participation in the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Joint Task Force in El Centro, California, UNITAS 2000, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Throughout his career, Sergeant Major Coston has served in various critical roles, from an Assault Amphibian Vehicle Crewman to his current position as the Installation Sergeant Major for Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia. His expertise and leadership have not only been instrumental in these capacities but have also inspired the Marines he has led and the communities he has served.

Dr. Emmett Griswold, President of Albany Technical College, and the entire Albany Technical College community invite veterans and the public to join them in honoring the service and sacrifice of America's veterans at this ceremony. "We are privileged to have Sergeant Major Coston, a true expression of Marine Corps values and an exemplar of military excellence, to speak on this day of remembrance and gratitude," said Dr. Griswold.

Attendees will also enjoy traditional ceremonial elements such as the Presentation of Colors, patriotic music, and a Veterans Video Tribute to conclude the event.
