Albany Tech Foundation Living and Learning Community Housing Scholarship
If you need assistance for housing at the Living and Learning Community, the Albany Tech Foundation will be awarding 10 - $2,500 scholarship in the 2024-25 Academic Year (Fall 2024 and Spring 2025).
Applicants must be currently accepted or enrolled in Albany Technical College's Associate of Science in Nursing, ASN (NE73) or Albany Technical College's Practical Nurse (PN21 or PN12) program during the academic year in which the scholarship application is being completed. Eligible applicants must be in their first semester or higher within the nursing program and must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Academic performance will be assessed at the end of each semester. Additionally, applicants must have an active 2024-2025 FAFSA on file. Once awarded, the housing scholarship will be applied directly to the student's housing costs. The scholarship is only applicable for housing at the Phoebe Living and Learning community. Award notifications will be sent out by July 15th. Recipients of the scholarship must attend a scheduled orientation session. During the orientation, applicants will receive detailed information about ATC expectations and college resources.

Phoebe Putney Work Commitment
Eligible students can receive a forgivable loan for payment of monthly rent at a studio or 1BR apartment leased from the Living & Learning Community.
While the loan will bear a low rate of interest, no payments will be due as long as the student remains enrolled in good standing in the LPN or RN program at Albany Technical College. After graduation and licensure, if the student is employed on a full-time basis at a Phoebe facility, one month of principal and interest owed on the loan will be forgiven for each month of continuous employment in good standing. The entire principal and interest of the loan will be forgiven if the employee continues to work at Phoebe for the number of months equal to the number of months of rent payment provided (minimum of 1 year commitment). Once loan forgiveness starts, the forgiven amounts are treated as income for tax purposes, and you will receive an IRS Form 1099 at the end of each year to use when filing your tax returns. If you leave school before graduating from the LPN or RN program or do not become and remain a full-time Phoebe employee as an LPN or RN, any loan amount not previously forgiven must be repaid.
