Job Description & Responsibilities:
The Certified Nursing Assistant assists Physicians and nursing personnel in providing patient care to a specific patient population. Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the Licensed Nurse. Collects specimens, runs lab tests, performs EKG's, Drug screen collection, and Breath Alcohols. Performs clerical duties as assigned. Participates in unit activities that enhance and promote quality patient care outcomes in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Patient Care Services of Phoebe Putney Health System.Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion. Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc. Ensures that documentation is tailored to expected readers / users. Uses correct terminology. Conforms to required style and format. Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role. Understands equipment operation. Maintains equipment in working order. Troubleshoots equipment problems. Uses technology to increase productivity. Adapts to new technology. Treats patients and families with compassion and implements plan of care. Bases care decisions on plan of care. Monitors and documents patient response. Establishes rapport with clients. Adapts communication style, listens and responds to patient needs. Recognizes age-specific responses to treatment. Provides effective interventions. Respects patients' confidentiality and privacy. Supports social, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families. Manages difficult or emotional patient situations.
Qualifications:
1+ year Patient Care Experience in a health care setting (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications Required Certifications/Licensures: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
