Job Description & Responsibilities:

Responsible for performing chart abstraction, charge identification, and charge entry on all assigned accounts. Request service codes for new items used from the Charge-master analyst, and enter/remove charges identified for correct claim submission. Assigns accurate payment methodologies from contract matrix, assuring correct and accurate reimbursement. Abstract clinical documentation from patient's medical record for purposes of capturing charges. Perform concurrent review of hospital bills to document unbilled, under billed and overbilled items/services, Communicates identified issues with clinical staff and leadership. Provide education to clinical staff for proper documentation and charge capture. Assign accurate payment reimbursement on designated accounts. Request service code(s) from the Charge master Analyst for chargeable items without a service code. Illustrates accuracy and consistency through Quality Review results of all audit documentation. Provides consistent input into monthly observations and executive summary reports. Illustrates creative problem solving skills through documentation of process improvement reporting and/or internal reporting mechanisms. Illustrates proficiency in the use of all internal software applications.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required. Work Experience: 1 year relevant data entry experience in healthcare related field required. 1 year chart analysis, chart auditing or chart abstraction preferred.
