Job Description & Responsibilities:

Under supervision, functions in an accurate and efficient manner to provide quality care and complete patient safety. Triage patients documenting information in the appropriate place in the EHR system. Prepares exam rooms and equipment for each appointment. Takes vital signs and prepares patient for physician examination and treatment. Maintains cleanliness of all clinical area, assist with sterilization process of instruments, and as-sist with maintaining adequate stock of supplies. Performs designated wave testing procedures using skilled techniques following laboratory poli-cy and procedures. Provide patient education pertaining to patient condition or preventive care. Documents patient education in progress notes and encounter for reporting purposes. Demonstrates patient advocacy which assures patients' right to privacy, safety, and confidentiality. Understands HIPAA requirements and conducts clinical and business processes that ensures patient privacy as a priority. May schedule patient appointments for follow-up visits. May assist with incoming phone calls to nursing area. Accurately documents all messages; gets messages to appropriate clinic personnel timely; assisting to ensures patient has a return call regarding their request or concern. Assistance with referrals will be expected as workflow dictates. Completes appropriate forms as directed per supervisor. Attends meetings as requested. Participates in in-service program and skills fair. Available to cover any clinics as necessary. Demonstrates age specific competencies that will be evaluated through direct observation and QI process (information from chart reviews, patient/peer/physician feedback, variance reports, and other mechanisms as indicated). Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma and graduation from a technical school program which prepare student for certificate by the State of Georgia. Completion of CNA program and certification obtained by passing the National Nurse Aide Assessment Test. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certifica-tion. Basic clinical skills that align with certification is essential. Lab skills will be obtained thru training within the organization. Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Pleasant disposition and ability to communicate effectively with patients and coworkers is a must.
