Job Description & Responsibilities:
General Nature of Work: Serves the 14-county health district. Assesses training needs of staff and community partners. Plans and/or coordinates training sessions, drills, and exercises for the agency and its partners. Utilizes exercises meeting state and federal guidelines/standards as training activities. Evaluates training and learning outcomes. Participates in general Emergency Preparedness planning and response activities. May require weekend and/or evening work. Provides excellent customer service and maintains HIPAA standards. Responds to Public Health Emergencies.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public health, emergency management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, AND Two years of experience, OR a High School diploma or GED, AND Two years of experience in emergency management. Physical requirements include occasional lifting of up to 45 lbs. Preferred Qualifications: Previous employment with any state’s Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health. Computer skills (Office suite). Greater than one year of experience providing training or instructional services in a functional area. The ability to hitch, tow, and back a trailer. Experience developing collaborations/partnerships. Emergency Preparedness Experience. NIMS/ICS Courses: 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800. WEBEOC, GHA911, and ReadyOp Communication system experience. Bilingual-Spanish and English.
