Job Description & Responsibilities:
Perform stick welding (SMAW) in field environments. Fabricate and install handrails, catwalks, and access platforms. Measure, cut, fit, and assemble structural steel components. Interpret basic fabrication drawings and field sketches. Modify existing structures to meet safety and operational requirements. Work safely inside active sawmill environments. Maintain welding equipment and fabrication tools. Follow company safety procedures and site-specific safety requirements. Coordinate with supervisors, mill personnel, and project teams. Travel to job sites as required.
Qualifications:
2+ years of stick welding (SMAW) experience (industrial preferred). Experience fabricating handrails, catwalks, or similar steel structures. Ability to work safely in active industrial/sawmill environments. Ability to read tape measures and perform accurate field measurements. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights when required. Reliable transportation to job sites. Strong attention to safety and detail. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in sawmills or lumber processing facilities. Experience with structural steel layout and installation. Ability to read fabrication drawings or blueprints. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Experience operating basic fabrication equipment (grinders, torches, magnetic drills, etc.).
Salary:
$25.00 To $33.00 Hourly
