Job Description & Responsibilities:
The GEAR UP 2032 Site Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the goals of the GEAR UP 2032 initiative by providing high-quality, school-based services that promote college and career readiness, postsecondary access, and academic enrichment. Working closely with school administrators, counselors, teachers, families, and community partners, the Site Coordinator supports the development of a college-going culture and ensures students receive the targeted supports needed for long-term success. Coordinators follow their assigned cohort of students throughout middle and high school, ensuring continuity of services and relationship-building that supports academic and postsecondary outcomes. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and relationship management skills, along with a commitment to equity and opportunity for all students.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred; Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with middle or high school students in an educational or youth-serving environment; Strong knowledge of college and career readiness frameworks, postsecondary pathways, and financial aid processes (e.g., FAFSA, HOPE, scholarships); Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with school personnel, students, families, and community partners; Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or Director of GEAR UP may find appropriate.
