Fire & Emergency Services

Fire and Emergency Services is a program of study at Albany Technical College that focuses on training students to become firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). The program typically includes coursework in areas such as fire science, fire prevention, hazardous materials response, and emergency medical procedures. Students may also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through internships or other experiential learning opportunities, such as participating in live fire training or riding along with emergency medical services. Upon completion of the program, graduates should have the skills and knowledge needed to work as firefighters and EMTs, responding to a wide range of emergencies and providing life-saving medical care to those in need.
