ACCOUNTING CLERK (Probate Court)

Job Description & Responsibilities:

The Dougherty County Probate Court is hiring for an Accounting Clerk. The purpose of this position is to accounting, clerical, and support service duties. Completes daily deposits and bank reconciliations monthly. This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks. Essential Tasks: • Provides customer service by telephone and by mail; provides assistance and information related to department procedures, forms, fees, payments, or other issues; responds to routine questions, complaints or requests for service; researches problems and initiates problem resolution. • Makes daily bank deposits for court fees; count money and money orders to ensure accuracy in report filing. • Assists court gather required information for financial reviews and audits. • Reviews and updates accounts payable documentation for validity, completeness, and delinquency. • Prepares requisitions, purchase orders, field purchase orders, and other forms. • Performs accounts payable and payroll disbursement process; prints, assembles, and mails account payables and payroll checks; processes manual checks. • Issues Birth Certificates, Death Certificates, Firearm Licenses, and Marriage Licenses according to the state law of Georgia and state Vital Records of Georgia. • Performs related work as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent. • Three (3) years of bookkeeping experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Salary:

$30,705.00 Annually
