Accounting Technician, Level 1, 2, or 3

Job Description & Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision, performs paraprofessional accounting and fiscal control functions, such as accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, facilities management, or other related general accounting processes. Balances/reconciles accounting records, statements, journals, or reports. Maintains records and files, collects fees or revenues. Receives further training, as required, to gain full proficiency & experience in all areas. Facilities management of district building and grounds. Prepares requested materials for audits of financial data or records. Processes or records financial transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, invoices, or requisitions in a ledger or computer system. Responds to Public Health Emergencies. Provides exceptional customer service and maintains HIPAA Standards.

Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related accounting or fiscal experience; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Accounting Technician Trainee (FIT019) or position equivalent. (Please mail or bring a copy of your college transcript or diploma for the interview—you must have an official transcript prior to the start date). Physical Requirements include occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. Preferred Qualifications: Previous employment with any state's Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health. Associate's degree in Accounting. Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products. Experience in processing financial transactions such as accounts payable and receivable in accordance to GAAP guidelines. Excellent customer service. Excellent organizational skills & time management. Experience overseeing building maintenance, janitorial, & other facility-related items.

Salary:

Starting pay $36,022
