Fire Fighter

Responds to emergency calls for fire suppression, medical assistance, hazardous materials incidents, natural disasters, explosions, bomb threats, downed power lines, and other emergency situations; responds to instructions from dispatcher; contacts appropriate related agencies as needed; performs general housekeeping and maintenance work associated with maintaining fire station; operates related equipment. Duties Include: Provides protection of life and property; Operate firefighting equipment and employ techniques to suppress, control and extinguish fires; Respond to a variety of emergency calls requiring the administration of first aid and medical treatment such as administering oxygen, resuscitation, CPR, removing victims from danger, etc.; Determines causes of fires, investigates and gathers information from scene, prepares and forwards findings; prepares various records and reports such as incident reports, station log books, fire inspection reports; maintain and repair equipment as needed; maintain up-keep of stations and grounds; attend schools and training as directed; other duties as assigned.

 At least 18 years of age  High School Diploma or equivalent  Must be NPQ 1 certified firefighter; or obtain certification within 1 year of employment  Possess a valid Georgia driver's license  No felony convictions in the past 10 years  Must be able to perform all functions of the firefighter responsibility  Must pass drug screen  Must pass physical  Must pass background check A very competitive salary and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate
