A: No, there will be no graduation practice held before the ceremony.
Q: Do guests need tickets to attend the ceremony?
A: No, tickets are not required for guests to attend the graduation ceremony. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q: Is graduation regalia required to participate in the ceremony?
A: Yes, all students must wear official graduation regalia (cap and gown) to participate.
Q: How should I prepare my graduation gown before the ceremony?
A: Please press your gown using a low heat setting on your iron to remove any wrinkles.
Q: What kind of shoes are appropriate for the ceremony?
A: Graduates must wear black or navy dress shoes. Jeans, tennis shoes, and boots are not permitted.
Q: Can I decorate my cap or gown?
A: No. Decorating your cap or gown is not allowed. Any sparkles, glitter, or embellishments will disqualify you from participating.
Q: Can I wear cords or stoles from outside organizations?
A: No. Only cords and honor stoles provided by Albany Technical College clubs or organizations are permitted. Unauthorized cords or stoles may result in removal from the ceremony.

Q: Can I bring a purse or bag?
A: Flint River Entertainment Complex enforces a Clear Bag Policy:
- One clear bag per guest (up to 12” x 12”) or a small non-clear clutch (up to 4.5” x 6.5”) is allowed.
- Larger bags and purses are prohibited unless medically necessary and subject to search.
- There will be no secure location to store personal belongings such as purses, backpacks, or bags. Graduates should plan accordingly.
Q: Can children or guests join me on the floor or stage?
A: No. Only graduating students are permitted to sit on the floor and cross the stage. Children or guests are not allowed to participate in the ceremony.
Q: When should graduates arrive?
A: It is strongly recommended that graduates arrive for check-in by:
- 9:30 a.m. for the 11:00 a.m. ceremony
- 12:30 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. ceremony
Line-up begins one hour before each ceremony: at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively.
Q: Does Flint River Entertainment Complex allow flowers, balloons, gifts, etc. inside?
A: No. Balloons and wrapped packages are prohibited.

A: Yes, prohibited items include:
- Weapons, outside food or drink, glass or metal containers
- Signs or banners larger than 11"x17"
- Air horns, fireworks, laser pointers, smoking devices
- Illegal substances, professional cameras or tripods
- Balloons, beach balls, wrapped gifts
- Skates, hoverboards, scooters, and full-face masks
