A Step-by-Step Guide to Financial Aid

Albany Technical College encourages you to apply for admission today! Application to our college does not obligate you to attend. It does, however, give the admissions staff the information we need to assist you in making your college choice. Let us help you discover how Albany Technical College could fit into your future.

  1. Apply to the College
    After reading the instructions, please fill out the online application as thoroughly as possible.

  2. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) All students must submit a Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and list our School Code (005601) on the FAFSA before we can offer financial assistance.

    Complete the 2026– 2027 FAFSA if you plan to attend school between August 2026 and July 2027 (fall semester 2026 spring semester 2027 and summer semester 2027).

    Complete the 2027 – 2028 FAFSA if you plan to attend school between August 2027 and July 2028 (fall semester 2027 spring semester 2028 and summer semester 2028).

  3. Provide Additional Information if Requested
    Some students will be required to complete the process of Verification. Verification is the process in which the Financial. Aid Office must verify that the information on the FAFSA is accurate. If you are selected for Verification, you must complete the Verification process before any awards will be finalized. The Financial Aid Office will contact you by email if any additional documents are needed to complete your file. The Financial Aid Office will submit any and all changes required as a result of Verification. When you submit any documents to the office, please make sure that your name and student ID number is included on all documents. Students may check Ellucian Experience to download forms and check the status of required documents.
  4. Review your Award Offer
    Award letters will be emailed to students. Returning students can expect their award notifications to be available on Ellucian Experience after the previous spring semester. As our office becomes aware of additional forms of aid, we will revise your award as necessary.
