Workforce Training and Support

Help With Training Costs and Employment Support

Albany Technical College works with regional workforce partners to help students and community members pay for training and receive support while preparing for employment. If you have lost a job, been laid off, experienced a business closure, or had your hours reduced, you may qualify for assistance that helps you train for a new career and return to work.

You do not need to know if you qualify to get started. Begin the referral process, and the workforce partner will review eligibility with you.

Available Support

If you qualify, workforce partners may assist with:

  • Payment for approved training programs
  • Gas or transportation assistance
  • Uniforms, tools, or required equipment
  • Limited assistance with car repairs
  • Job search and job placement services

* These services are provided by regional workforce partners, not Albany Technical College.

Who Should Apply

You should submit a referral if you:

  • Are an Albany Technical College student or plan to enroll
  • Need help paying for school or work-related expenses
  • Were laid off, lost your job, experienced reduced work hours, or were affected by a business closure
  • Want help finding employment after completing training

Students receiving financial aid are still encouraged to apply. If you are not eligible at this time, you may be eligible later.

Important Information

  • Only approved programs qualify for workforce funding
